For the first time, Assembly was held online and elected new IBP Committees members

The IBP president, Clarissa Lins, emphasized, during the 63rd Ordinary General Assembly, the actions Institute has been taking to promote full support to the government, companies, and society in the fight against COVID-19. “We set up a Crisis Committee at IBP – with the support of associated companies – which meets daily to discuss all matters of concern, having, in the beginning, shared good isolation and care practices for the welfare of its employees and providers of service. Today the committee is constantly dedicated to the operational continuity of the activities of the entire oil and gas chain, as it is an essential service“, she said. At the first General Assembly held completely remote, Clarissa added saying that the Board of Directors of IBP, of the Institute’s E&P and Downstream companies, are giving full support to these activities.

The executive also commented about the creation of a humanitarian action group – associated with the IBP Crisis Committee – which is in direct contact with the Ministry of Health, identifying priority items for health aid, alongside demand and who can help, through either donations and/or agreements with federal hospitals and universities, Fiocruz, among other local entities. “We are identifying the size of humanitarian aid that our industry may be able to provide. This is done individually by each company and the IBP will be the platform for consolidating these actions, providing the Ministry of Health with the necessary information and also receiving humanitarian demands from the executive branch”, concluded.

The Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP) also elected new members of the Board of Directors and Financial Board at the General Assembly. With the current terms expiring on March 31st, the changes will take effect from April.

Roberto Simões, president and member of the board of directors of Braskem, and Renato Bertani, CEO of Barra Energia, were elected as the new members of the Board of Directors of the Institute, for a term of four and two years, respectively. Clarissa Lins, was also elected to the Board.

For the Financial Board, Marcos Bustamante, financial director of Petrobras, Glaura Kartalian, financial executive director of Supergasbras, and Aparecido Pereira, of TechnipFMC, were elected as permanent members of the Board. Sabrina Ramalhoto, the financial manager of Enauta was elected a new alternate member.
