				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Labelled as one of the main events focused on oil and gas students, the <a href="http://profissionaldofuturo.ibp.org.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Professional of the Future</strong></a>, organized by the <a href="https://www.ibp.org.br/?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP)</strong></a>, will bring its 18<sup>th</sup> edition to <a href="http://www.otcbrasil.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>OTC Brasil 2019</strong></a>, the most important offshore conferences in the country, on October 31th.</p>
<p>This edition, themed “<em>Changing the game: new career opportunities and the role of youth in a changing industry</em>”, will approach the issue of energy transition, within the context of new energy sources and geopolitical arrangements, and how young people can contribute to the process of political, environmental and climate change.</p>
<p>During the day, the sessions will gather a CEO, a HR leader and a young professional to discuss career challenges for youth talents, their previous experiences and projections to the future. At the end of each one, a headhunter will promote a laboratory to give tips on building a resume and participating in selection processes.</p>

<p>Created in 2020 to broad the horizons of young students about oil and gas industry, the <a href="http://profissionaldofuturo.ibp.org.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Professional of the Future</strong></a> is focused on debates career challenges and opportunities and professional perspectives in the industry. It also serves to promote and disseminate knowledge about industry and contribute to the training of young people through engagement with the academic environment.</p>

<p><strong>Rio de Janeiro, September 25, 2018</strong> &#8211; The second day of the 19th edition of Rio Oil &amp; Gas started focusing on the future. National and international speakers discussed issues of importance to the segment and launched the activities of the Professional of the Future program at the event.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Mature Fields</strong></p>
<p>The panel &#8220;The Future of Mature Offshore Fields&#8221; discussed the exploration of this rather underdeveloped segment in the country, which now wins bigger proportions with the new ANP resolution that provides for reduced royalties in more than 240 areas.</p>
<p>Marcelo Castilho, superintendent of the National Petroleum Agency, spoke about the importance of developing the full potential of Brazilian industry and stressed: &#8220;We need different corporate profiles with new experiences.&#8221;</p>
<p>The issue of the recovery factor on mature fields was also highlighted by Castilho as one of the challenges faced by the country. The Norwegian experience was shown as an example of what can be done, and Unni Sunnset, Equinor&#8217;s director, said that the Norway’s index is 50% &#8211; far above the global average of 30%. &#8220;Our goal is to raise the recovery factor to 60 percent and redevelop other 20 fields in the North Sea&#8221;, said the executive.</p>
<p>In Brazil, Nelson Queiroz Tanure, CEO of PetroRio, highlighted the company&#8217;s experience in the redevelopment of mature fields and commented on their performance in the Polvo field, which production has grown by 50% &#8211; with an increase of 3,500 barrels per day. &#8220;We have operated Octopus since 2014. The field would be abandoned in 2016, but we invested and managed to extend its lifespan to at least 2024&#8221;, he said.</p>

<p><strong>Artificial intelligence and Data Science</strong></p>
<p>Artificial intelligence and data analysis is a one-way road in the oil &amp; gas industry. The conclusion was unanimous in the special session in which companies such as Repsol Sinopec, BHGE and IBM Research introduced industry-specific solutions that have ensured efficiency to companies and optimized employee time. Executives argued that the inclusion of artificial intelligence does not replace human work. Instead, it allows them to dedicate more time to more complex issues.</p>
<p>&#8220;In shale gas, for example, we have an 85% success rate in interpreting data from large databases. This index, however, varies greatly across the industry&#8221;, said Ulisses Mello, director of the IBM Research Center.</p>
<p>Marcio Affonso, BHGE&#8217;s software solutions architecture leader, compared the treatment of large databases to finding a needle in the ocean. &#8220;We want to understand rare problems and predict what will happen in the future to mitigate difficulties and risks in our operations&#8221;, said the executive. &#8220;We can now make more specific proposals that address the needs of each company&#8221;, added Repsol Sinopec’s R&amp;D Engineer, Anderson Leocadio da Nova.</p>

<p><strong>Professional of the Future</strong></p>
<p>The Professional of the Future, a program of the oil &amp; gas industry targeted at students, began its activities at Rio Oil &amp; Gas 2018 on this Tuesday morning (25). More than 200 university students and young professionals participated in conversations with industry experts, as well as in a career workshop with the headhunter and partner at Weplace, Alessandra Simões, who prepared practical guidelines.</p>
<p>Raízen&#8217;s CEO, Luís Henrique Guimarães, spoke about the transformation of the industry and gave some tips for professionals interested in making a career in this field: &#8220;despite the political moment that Brazil is going through, marked by a strong polarization, students and young professionals in the energy industry are in the right country at the right time. The energy transition will create many career opportunities&#8221;, he explained.</p>
<p>Raquel Figueiras, an IBP senior economist and analyst, told how she shift her career from being an economist in the public sector to a professional in the energy industry. &#8220;At one point, I understood that I needed to enhance my academic background, but Master&#8217;s programs in technical fields were not appealing. Studying energy, a brand new field for me, opened new doors and was the great turning point in my career&#8221;, she said.</p>
<p>The presentation also focused on the skills a professional should develop. According to Equinor&#8217;s Development Manager, Gabriele Botelho, &#8220;having digital minds, and that means not only being digitally included, but having digital attitudes, being cooperative and sharing knowledge, and capacity to mobilize are very well-regarded profiles&#8221; .</p>
<p>Rio Oil &amp; Gas will be held until Thursday (27), with five thematic blocks that will address Exploration and Production, Downstream, Gas &amp; Energy, Supply, Industry Management, and Digital Technologies. Eleven parallel events will take place, bringing together specialists in technology, sustainability, SMS (Health, Environment and Security), certification, exploration, downstream and professional development.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Develop a successful career could be a challenge, especially to young people who are starting their careers in the job market. The continuous digital transformation that has been changing markets also contributes to worsen that challenge.</p>
<p>Thinking in the future of those students and in career opportunities that oil and gas industry can offer, the Youth Professional program, created in 2002, aims to gather oil and gas CEOs and specialists, recruiters, HR experts, young leaders and students to engage and integrate them to the national oil and gas industry.</p>
<p>This year, the event, that happens September 25 parallel with <a href="http://www.riooilgas.com.br/?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rio Oil &amp; Gas 2018</a> &#8211; the largest oil and gas event in Latin America – will discuss career paths for young leaders and how to stand out in the digital transformation, considering the innovation and future of oil and gas in the midst of a technological and socioeconomic revolution.</p>
<p>According to Eduardo Costa, <a href="http://ouronegro.com.br/?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ouro Negro</a> CEO and guest speaker, the technological revolution process that oil and gas industry is facing, switching to a low carbon economy, will stimulate disruptive innovation, drive by the development of startups, and a new professional profile.</p>
<p>“Brazil has a regulation environment that fosters investments in technological development through startups, and this is important to worldwide and Brazilian oil and gas industry. And looking forward, I see that creativity will be important. Not only maintain, but also develop creativity, because it will be the central element in the industry’s transformation and innovation process and I hope the young professional become the leader of this change”, considered Eduardo.</p>
<p>To young people, the event is an opportunity to practice all the knowledge accomplished at university, engaging with oil and gas biggest companies CEOs. “We have someone that comes from the sector sharing ideas, in a dynamic and integrated environment, and we see what HR experts are requiring nowadays”, added Marcus Rodrigues, UniRio University engineer student.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The increase in the number of fields operated by different companies motivated the debate, which highlighted the appropriate regulation for the new scenario of the transportation market. Kjetil Solbraekke, Rystad Energy’s vice-president for Latin-America, remembered that, in Brazil, gas is 5 times more expensive due to infrastructure, and added that he will “depend on the legislation to know who will benefit the most from the opportunities. Brazil has the chance to regulate correctly”.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For Subsea 7 marketing vice-president, Paulo Cesar Martins, Brazil must prepare for the market’s recovery. “We’re on the right track regarding regulation, but we need to improve it to meet the domestic demand of growing gas production in Brazil”, he said.</p>
<h6 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Youth Professional Program fills auditorium with debate </strong><strong>about O&amp;G workforce</strong></h6>
<p style="text-align: justify;">On the second day of <a href="http://www.riopipeline.com.br/?lang=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Rio Pipeline 2017</a>, the <a href="http://profissionaldofuturo.ibp.org.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Youth Professional Program</a>, dedicated to promoting, attracting and integrating students to the oil and gas industry, filled the auditorium with college students and gathered Human Resources and industry experts to talk about the O&amp;G workforce and market opportunities.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Organized by IBP’s Youth Committee, the first session had the participation of OTC’s Chairman, Wafik Beydoun, who reinforced the importance of skills beyond the technical area for professional success. “It’s very important to develop the side you’re not used to dealing with. Behavior and communication, for example, are not skills you learn at university, but are just as important”, he emphasized.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">According to Alessandra Simões, headhunter and partner at Uphill, you must think strategically about your career. “The student needs to invest in himself while he’s in college, and features such as communicability and attitude have been very sought in candidates”, she said.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Cristiano Pereira, UFF’s student and Youth Committee member, was in the audience of the 2015 edition and came back this year as a speaker to tell how his perspective on the market changed after the experience. “I didn’t pass my first interview for being too shy. Today, after what I’ve learned at events like this, such as the importance of networking, my career took a different path and I’m here talking to young people who can change too”, he remembered.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Better your chances in the oil and gas industry job market and chart better career paths. Brazilian students will have the opportunity to receive valuable insights from industry experts in the year&#8217;s last edition of the Professional of the Future Program, to be held on 28 and 29 October at <strong><a href="http://www.otcbrasil.org/pt/" target="_blank">OTC Brasil 2015</a></strong>.</p>
<p>The event at the Riocentro convention center, in Rio de Janeiro, is a Brazilian Institute for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (IBP) program now 13 years in existence that helps expand students&#8217; knowledge of the industry and recruit young talent for the industry, contributing to the development of businesses and institutions.</p>
<p>A highlight on the 29th will be the participation of IBP General Secretary Milton Costa Filho and headhunter Tiago Chaves, who will provide insight on career beginnings, an overview of the industry, and their own personal and professional experience.</p>
