				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: justify;">Last Wednesday, 22, IBP held the first meeting of the Digital Transformation Council at its headquaters, in Rio de Janeiro. Conceived with the aim of ensuring a better alignment of the institute&#8217;s strategies with the needs of the industry, the committee will create guidelines and support the working groups of IBP’s Technology and Innovation Management – OT (operational technology) x IT (information technology) Convergence, Data, Ecosystems and Culture of Innovation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">&#8220;We brought people who do not necessarily live the daily life of the oil industry, but live the daily life of the digital transformation world in their veins,&#8221; André Clark, president of Siemens and chairman of the new committee, said. The group is comprised of professionals with an expanded outlook towards technology beyond the energy sector.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">At the meeting, IBP&#8217;s secretary-general, Cristina Pinho, made a presentation on the economic potential and the relevance of the O&amp;G industry for the country, the importance of technology for the sector, as well as the challenges of the segment in the context of digital transformation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Digital transformation has a very important role in the energy transition, in the fight against climate change”, Cristina defended. &#8220;I think that, as an environment of knowledge management and reflection, a think tank, it is our obligation to help this industry make this path in this smoother transition, and break some prejudices, which are still really strong in our industry&#8221;.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The council also defined a trimestrial frequency for the meetings and the priority topics for the 2020/2021 biennium: Telecom infrastructure and 5G technology; artificial intelligence, ethics, national security and cyber security; innovation and public policies; the future of work; decarbonization technologies; in addition to technology and operational security.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Adyr Tourinho, Brazil Oilfield Equipment Latam Vice-President of BHGE; Vanessa Costa, R&amp;D portfolio manager at Repsol, representing Tamara Garcia, the company&#8217;s RD&amp;I manager; Anderson Marinho, IT manager at Equinor; Raquel Miscow, assistant to the Digital Transformation board at Petrobras, representing Nicolas Simone, director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at the oil company; Nivio Ziviani, professor and researcher at UFMG; Adriana Moreira, IT manager at Shell; and Eduardo Ricotta, president of Ericsson Latam, also attended the meeting. Lisandro Gaertner, Commitees and Knowledge manager at IBP; and Melissa Fernandez, Technology and Innovation manager at IBP, integrated the group as well.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Cristina Palmaka, president of SAP; Tania Consentino, president of Microsoft; and Cleber Morais, director of Amazon Web Services Brasil, are also part of the board.</p>

<p>Technology advancement in recent years such as cloud computing, analytic and artificial intelligence have accelerated the pace of digitalization in oil and gas production. A key enabler for industry 4.0 (fourth industrial revolution) is “digital twin,” that is, exchange of digital data, access to virtual information of installations or industrial products.</p>
<p>This enables decentralization through  the acquisition and exchange of data  plus access to a great variety of information, making it easy to interchange operations at an unprecedented level.</p>
<p>Relevant knowledge include evidences from bibliometric analyses in oil fields equipped with advanced technology.</p>
<p>This requires 3D/4D visualization of geological data; graphical computing; visual computing; visual interpretation; memory capacity for a greater volume of data; stereo display; visual modeling; integrated communication and long range training; high production volume (HPV); high performance computing (HPC); horizontal drilling; extended reach drilling (ERD) and sidetrack drilling.</p>
<p>In ultra-deep water explorations, the sector researches new water treatment technologies. GE announced that the new membrane created for Sea Water Sulfate Removal (SWSR) was approved by Petrobras.</p>
<p>Installing a membrane injection plant allows time reduction; identification and solution for bottlenecks and improve field workforce efficiency among other advantages.</p>
<p>The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enables the implementation of at least eleven applications; six types of visualization capacities; six types of advanced analytics and four groups of equipment, including various types of connectivity.</p>
<p>Tomographic Imaging &amp; Porous Media Laboratory is one of the largest tomographic facilities in North America focused on Crack-Tip (CT) that is, scanning core and laboratory experiments for the oil and gas industry.</p>
<p>Some analysts believe that the potential economic impact enabled by the use of digital technologies will total more than $370 billion by 2025.</p>

<p>Sesam&#8217;s 3D technologies let you visually simulate, test and evaluate marine operations ahead of offshore handling, significantly reducing risks for installation of subsea equipment, including transportation and lifting of fixed and floating structures.</p>
<p>Offshore operations can involve unpredictable complexities. By analyzing multiple possible scenarios and simulating operations in 3D and real time, you can base critical decisions on the best available information of lifting analysis or topsides and modules of structures such as templates, pipelines and flexible risers.</p>
<p>Besides the installation/removal of topsides previous analysis, offshore crane operations, jacket lift installation and removal, offloading and transportation of offshore floaters, umbilical and pipelines are simplified by user-friendly graphic interface.</p>
<p>As operators move to deeper waters or unpredictable weather this software solution helps to improve Health, Security and Environment (HSE) performance.</p>
<p>Robotics and technologies that change the face of IT and digitalization in the industry are also set to affect operations, change ship emissions and provide smarter fleet management. An example is Amazon plans to process units using deep learning and Microsoft adopting field programmable gate arrays.</p>
<p>Google is into neural networks and machine learning on tensor processing units, which are application-specific integrated circuits. Construction of autonomous (unmanned) commercial ship will also be testing the market to identify which technologies to adopt.</p>

<p>Impacts of digital technology, challenging innovations being offered by automation and the use of new drilling technology include <strong>increased efficiency for health, safety and environment (HSE) such as indirect heating and well risk assessment, greatly benefitting employees</strong>.</p>
<p>Operators are also seeking new logging-while drilling (LWD) tools that offer real time measurements to obtain high quality data. Key components of Advanced Multipole Sonic-While-Drilling Technology are wideband multipole transmitter (multiple measurement types), attenuator section to optimize sonic logging quality in hard formations and some 48 wideband receivers for clean acoustic signal adapted to a full range of hole sizes.</p>
<p>New technology also consists of four separate platforms connected by bridges: a quarter platform (QP), a drilling platform (DP), a production and compression platform (PCP) and a wellhead platform (WHP). A water-injection platform (WIP) is considered a state-of-the-art automated drilling rig linked to the existing WHP by a fixed steel bridge containing integrated topsides with water-injection facilities, seawater and produced water treatment facilities, plus power generation.</p>
<p>WIP can also be linked by fiber-optic line to onshore operations centers, allowing offshore information to be accessible onshore, involving more on-hand expertise, enhancing safety and requiring fewer offshore personnel. WIP design was to improve the HSE standard and rig efficiency while reducing offshore personnel and providing a standalone well intervention platform.</p>
<p>Well kick – permeable formation, an influx of formation fluids to the well, could occur when the pore pressure exceeds the drilling fluid pressure. In case this kick is not safely controlled before reaching the surface (Blowout), terrible consequences could take place such as damage to, or loss of wellbores, facilities, environment or lives.</p>

<p>O diretor do <a href="http://www.int.gov.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Instituto Nacional de Tecnologia (INT)</strong></a>, Fernando Rizzo, disse nesta segunda-feira (26), na primeira palestra da <a href="http://www.ogtechweek.com.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>O&amp;G TechWeek 2019</strong></a>, que o maior desafio do país na transição para a indústria 4.0 é a infraestrutura. Segundo ele, o governo tem mapeadas algumas demandas de investimento para suportar novas tecnologias, mas faltam recursos em função do contingenciamento orçamentário.</p>
<p>&#8220;A estratégia de transformação digital coloca uma série de demandas, como a de melhorar nosso backbone, mas enfrentamos esse desafio (de recursos)&#8221;, disse.</p>
<p>Rizzo destacou também a importância da tecnologia 5G para a transformação digital no setor de petróleo e gás. &#8220;Precisamos preparar a infraestrutura do país para o 5G e internet das coisas&#8221;, disse frisando que o governo vai trabalhar para realizar o  leilão das frequências, mas que precisa equacionar algumas questões, como a sobreposição com as frequências da telefonia.</p>
<p>Para os representantes das empresas que participaram do primeiro painel da tarde do evento, a transformação digital no setor vai muito além de infraestrutura, avanços tecnológicos, uso de robótica e maior capacidade de processamento de dados. É preciso uma nova cultura corporativa, com maior integração, trabalho colaborativo e “sem ter medo de errar”. “Esse é um passo importante para inovar”, ressalta Tâmara García, gerente de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento da <a href="https://www.repsolsinopec.com.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Repsol Sinopec</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Sylvia dos Anjos, gerente geral de Tecnologia Aplicada da <a href="http://www.petrobras.com.br/pt/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Petrobras</strong></a>, afirmou que, numa indústria tradicional, essa mudança de pensamento é fundamental, com colaboração das diversas equipes que atuam no projeto de Libra, que será o primeiro ativo “totalmente conectado” operado pela companhia. “O objetivo é, em 2024, usarmos dados e informações digitais para monitorar e diagnosticar tendências que possam afetar processos, segurança, o desenvolvimento dos projetos e o desempenho do campo”, disse a executiva.</p>
<p>Para atingir essa meta, é necessário otimizar e redefinir processos, treinar e engajar pessoas e implementar e customizar tecnologias, destacou. E o desafio não é trivial: somente o campo de Libra, um dos maiores do pré-sal em fase de desenvolvimento, conta com 31 bases de dados e 134 sistemas.</p>
<p>Hege Færø-Finnvik , vice-presidente de Operações, Tecnologia e Excelência da <a href="https://www.equinor.com.br/pt.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Equinor</strong></a>, disse, por sua vez, que a transformação digital demanda uma “escalada para o sucesso” na área tecnológica, reinventar o modo de trabalho e inovar, sempre, ao lado do ecossistema de fornecedores.</p>
<p>Jane Zhang, gerente geral de tecnologia da <a href="https://www.shell.com.br/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Shell</strong></a>, afirmou que a transformação digital é um imperativo diante da forte mudança que o mundo atravessa, com crescimento de 100% da demanda de energia até 2050. No Brasil, a Shell já utiliza tecnologias digitais integradas de dados para análises geofísicas e para suporte à operação de poços e na integridade e gerenciamento de FPSOs (navios-plataformas de produção e estocagem de óleo e gás).</p>
<p>Anderson Moraes, gerente de Tecnologia e Digitalização da <a href="https://akersolutions.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Aker Solutions</strong></a>, apresentou uma plataforma desenvolvida pela companhia que armazena e integra na nuvem dados de todas partes de sistemas de produção (poços, equipamentos subsea, plataforma, etc), o que ajuda a reduzir o tempo de resposta em falhas operacionais e acidentes, por exemplo.</p>
<p>Em outro painel, representantes das maiores consultorias globais destacaram as tecnologias que têm potencial para serem disruptivas no mercado de óleo e gás. Segundo eles, o maior desafio está na integração das áreas operacionais e corporativas das empresas.</p>
<p>&#8220;É preciso comunicar o chão de fábrica com os níveis organizacionais para viabilizar transformação digital. Precisamos de processos bem estruturados na área operacional para extrairmos dados de forma segura. É importante conseguir criar uma ponte entre esses dois níveis”, disse Victor Venâncio, sócio diretor da <a href="https://home.kpmg/br/pt/home.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>KPMG</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Para Glaucia Alves, diretora de Inovação da <a href="https://www2.deloitte.com/br/pt.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Deloitte</strong></a>, as empresas precisam investir em inovações nos processos que já existem, que ela chama de <em>core</em> e adjacentes, mas também em projetos capazes de realmente transformar o negócio. “O portfólio ideal deve ter uns 70% de projetos de inovação no <em>core</em>, 20% de inovação adjacente e 10% em inovação transformacional”, disse, frisando que inovação transformacional é a que evita que o negócio sofra disrupção.</p>
<p>Já Viviane Costa, gerente sênior da <a href="https://www.accenture.com/br-pt" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Accenture</strong></a>, também frisou a importância de maior atenção aos processos e destacou a maturidade do setor de petróleo e gás. Segundo ela, isso ajuda a vivenciar esse momento de transformação de forma saudável, sem correr o risco de gastar muito dinheiro e não ter transformação. “O preço do barril cai e vemos a indústria estável, diferentemente de outros momentos”, destacou.</p>
<p>Também participaram do <strong>primeiro dia da O&amp;G TechWeek</strong> empresa líderes no segmento de tecnologia. A gerente de vendas da <a href="https://www.aboutamazon.com/?utm_source=gateway&amp;utm_medium=footer" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Amazon</strong></a>, Cristina Jeronimides, destacou a importância de ser tolerante com o erro, mas, de preferência na fase inicial do projeto, o que reduz o custo. Edilson Cardoso, gerente de Digital e Inovação, Serviços e Suporte da <strong>Embraer</strong>, companhia que também é de capital intensivo e tem grande foco em segurança assim como as empresas de óleo e gás, afirmou que a empresa busca aproveitar as competências de “todas as gerações” para inovar e conciliar flexibilidade e agilidade do mundo digital com as características do setor, muito regulado.<strong></p>
